Default tires too big?

has anyone had experience with 33inch tires on a bronco II or ranger?
i have a stock bronco II and want 31"s for on it but i have a few 33's. i figure i can cut the fender wells so they fit and even add a 3inch body lift of completely needed (which it probably will be). but the question is, will those stock skinny driveshafts and axles be ok? i dont plan on goin out boggin in it or overly beating it, but its a hunting truck and will see a little 4 wheel drive time.

so could i get away with 33's since i have them or should i really look more into the 31's? i have tried finding someone with some 31's to trade for my 33's but no-one seems to have any. any suggestons?

i need to keep this as cheap as possible- thanks

If you have the funds and knowledge for it, lift it like you said. It will save you from mangling fenders and other body parts...as far as the drivetrain holding together, you'll be fine if it's just for hunting. The tires on it are probaly close to 28" already so it's not that huge of a jump. If you stuffed some 39's and buried it in 14" of mud it probably wouldn't hold up too swift, but you should be alright...The only thing you might want to consider is different gears down the road because the bigger tires will make it a little more sluggish from a stop (and remember it will take more to get them stopped too). Good luck and post up pictures with an update...
