Default Need opinions!!

Ok boys i have a 93 jeep cherokee 4x4 manual...in the next week or so, i plan to order a intake...now i've seen a couple of intakes im interested it...theres the air raid intake which i hear is good, but not as good as the k&n...but is this true.or is it a sales pitch...please give opinions..and next i wanna get a custom exhaust, i really dont feel like paying 500 dollars for a name brand exhaust...now what would you recommend as far as exhaust goes?? i dont want anything too loud, just want a beefy good sound...recommendations would be awesome thanks!

Eric

I don't believe the AirRaid has a million mile warranty to it. Either one should give the same amount of gain, though. If you want an exhaust system without the price tag, build it yourself...or just order a few mandrel bends and take them to a muffler shop, they almost always have straight piping in stock.

intake are basically what ever one looks the best to you. the minimal gains you get from the air intake will be minimal and you are not likely to feel ant difference in power gain. so it mostly personal prefrence which ever one looks best on your truck. i have had kn, volant, and airaid all which had equal hp gains according to manufacturer numbers.

as for your exhaust goes dont waste $500 dollars on a bolt up kit just a waste of money just get a good muffler and you will see the same gains as you would with a cat back system.

An intake is not going to noticably change horsepower, it will give you a little better throttle response though...
