Default Unorthodox...suggestions anyone?

Well this should be funny...I got a 97 4wd Rav4 I dont wanna keep it stock...I'd wanna set it up for mudding I could make it into a street truck and lower it and all that bullshit...but I've got a rx7 for that...what I wanna know how would I get started with this? I dont wanna have it lifted but I wanna know that it wont get stuck a small mud pit or anything like that...what makes it difficult is the car came with 16's and I've figuring out what I could put in there few people told me one of the best ways to get started is the tires...the car came a with center locking diff...from what im told that's something that comes useful when you're out there...in anycase I'd appreciate any input on this one thanks

I've yet to see a Rav4 set up for offroading, IMO the two just don't mix...especially if you're not going to lift it. The general keys to a decent offroading vehicle are a big lift, big tires, a big engine, and a strong 4wd. The Rav4's engine is obviously not too beefy, and without a lift you're not going to fit big tires on there. If you're dead set on using a soccer mom suv for mudding though, be sure to invest into a good winch...you'll probably be using it alot.

Here is the link. http://www.rocky-road.com/rav4.html

My wife has a '04 2WD and I have to admit that thing moves pretty good for a 4cyl

Ive spent the last year building all types off 4x4's.. I think I rav4 could be a great daily driver and a capable machine offroad.. Seen a few on some videos on some nasty trails.. I work in tampa, give a call to 813-879-5637. ask for andrew.. We can hook you up.
