Default question about my truck

i got a 97 gmc jimmy, with flomasters installed. my question is has anybody ever ran an open cutout on these cars. i was thinking of doing so, my brother just did to his 02 ws6, and it sounds sickkk!, i was thinking of trying it out, if i dont like it i can close it. what do you guys think.

I don't see a problem with it, I'm guessing you have a 4.3 L V-6 (aka 350 with 2 fewer cyl). There shouldn't be any problem as long as the down pipe is long enough to keep the cool air from comming back into the engine (if it gets cold enough for that here).

u can just make sure theres gonna b enought pipe for backpressure, gonna burn up your valves, also i got a 75 dollar ticket for a Flowmaster exhaust, so id be careful, btew my exhaust is still on
