I own a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Larado, something has happened to the liftgate. It will not unlock by using the remote or the front door locks. I can manually unlock it and it opens fine, but I have to go thru the back and use the emergency latch. Any ideas?

 

Could be locking solenoid/actuator (forget which one it is).. I had similiar problem with my rear passenger door lock.

 

Its your actuator, it probably just got burned out, You should take it to Car Stereo World of Brandon on 204 west brandon blvd. off 60. They might be able to help you out.

 

Or Jeep on Kennedy. That's who fixed mine.
