Default Check Engine Light Codes

Does anyone know how I can find out the code for my check engine light? It came on this weekend and I want to know what it is before I dish out $80 to have them run a diagnostic check. I don't want to spend the money if it's something Travis can fix. Any and all help is very much so appreciated! Thanks!

ETA: I need to know how to get the code and what the code(s) mean. Thanks!

Autozone does it for free. Just tell them you have a light.

Before running down there, double check that your gas cap is screwed on tight! 7 times out of 10, thats the cause.

Governor Pressure Sensor Offset Volts Too Low or High... Sensor input greater or less than calibration for 3 consecutive Neutral/Park occurrences (4-speed auto. trans. only).

Either bad sensor or your fluid pressure is too low or too high while in neutral or park..Could even be low on fluid. Pure guesses though, based on the error code.

Well ever since Saturday the Jeep just hasn't been driving the way it should. The pick up on it is awful so I thought it had something to do with the transmission. Guess so from what Fitzgerald has been telling me. This sucks!
