Thumbs down Ugh. Rental vehicle is Jeep Liberty..

I haven't had the chance to post about this yet, but some drunk ass hit my Jeep in the parking lot at my apartment complex this past Sunday.. about 2K worth of damage..

Well I just brought it in to his insurance company (Progressive, they have their own service center off of Benjamin road) and they furnish their own rentals.. since I have a Jeep, they gave me a Liberty.

What a piece of crap compared to the WJ.. Rides so much worse, the seats are extremely uncomfortable, and the 3.7L is aweful.

I hope no one here has one, I don't want to insult anyone.. but what a waste of a Jeep logo. I guess I can't complain since its a free rental.. but yikes I can't wait to bring this thing back.

I'm getting more used to it, but I'd never buy this thing.. Maybe more so because its a rental and it has no options.

About a year ago my boyfriend and I only had 1 working car (my POS sebring that my mom gave me broke down once a week) and I worked at a small law firm and one of the associates had a liberty - he loves that thing. I got a ride from him to and from work a few times and that thing, with all the options, was a piece! I can't believe they got rid of the cherokee sport for that thing. It is a waste of the jeep logo. It's ugly as all hell, rides like shit and has no power behind it - makes my love my grand cherokee all that much more!

Depends on the trim..

One good thing about Jeep is that there is so many different options, trim packages, and extras.. so its hard to assume.. but base Liberty starts at the low 20's.. basic Laredo GC starts around 24-26k.. Basic limited GC starts around 31k.. and goes up from there.. Most advanced Overland or Freedom edition could be as high as 40K.. I think the most a Liberty would be is around 30K..

They both target completely seperate markets. The Liberty is geared towards those that would be interested in the CRV, RAV4, etc.. the small "minivan" type SUV's (yet "sporty") that serve no real purpose other then larger vehicle/people mover. The GC targets the 30+ demographic that is looking for a sophisticated and smart SUV with plenty of options and luxury, but still very capable offroad abilities..
