In regards to the lift, I'm not too familiar with those.. shouldn't cost too much, but its fairly simple to do yourself. I believe you have leaf springs, so you don't need to compress any coils, etc.. You may just be able to get an "add-a-leaf" lift kits and a buddy or two and a case of beer and be able to bang it out on a Saturday..
yeah i read up on those leaf springs, but i just might get a body lift, it fits my bagger job a lot better. My girlfriends cousin has some old 36 mud's he said he'd let me use if i ever wanted to go out there, that should be a good time if i ever had the cash for a lift.
Body lifts are pretty simple and cheap. I'm not a Ford guy but the only problems I could see you running into would be shift linkage and steering shaft angle. (I had to buy a Borgeson U-joint $70) Go for it. Good luck fitting 36's on it without a saw-zaw.

Like I said I am no Ford guy. You would need to check out a Ford board for the brake line question. Mine have plenty of slack. The body lift will stress your stock steering shaft. U-joint alleviates the stress.
