While next summer is a long way off, it's never too early to mark your calendars for July 16 thru 25 Race Week. We fully anticipate a great year with all of the pent up excitement as we return with a full 10-day schedule.

Next year we are still honoring Corvette as our Marque of the Year and Viper as the Spotlight.

2021 PVGP Race Week Calendar

A 10-DAY AUTOMOTIVE FESTIVAL THAT BENEFITS CHARITY

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, presented by the Greater Pittsburgh Automobile Dealers Foundation, started as a single-day race in 1983 has grown into a motorsport festival with two full race weekends and 10 days of parties, parades and car shows.

In 2021 we are still honoring the Corvette as our Marque of the Year and Viper as the Spotlight. There will be a Vette vs Viper Race at Pitt Race Complex on Sunday, July 18 along with a week of activities in Pittsburgh. Details

There is something at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix for anyone who has any kind of fondness for things that go “vroom.” The following links will give you just a taste of what the PVGP has to offer.

Kick-Off Rallye
Sunday, July 11 – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

If you like cars and country roads, this is a great way to spend a summer Sunday and kick off the Grand Prix. The Rallye is like a countryside tour and a scavenger hunt rolled into one. This is a casual and fun event with no experience required. Your $75 entry includes participation in the Rallye for driver and navigator. Rallye starts and ends at Red Robin at Pittsburgh Mills.

PVGP Historics at Pitt-Race Complex
July 15-189:00 am – 5:00 pm

If you’re into hearing the thunderous roar of historic cars and ground pounders on a 2.8 mile purpose-built track at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex, this is the weekend for you. The PVGP Historics have developed into one of the PVGP’s most popular and growing events. On Saturday and Sunday from noon to 1:00 pm, for a donation to the charity, there is even a chance for spectators to experience a thrilling lap on the track with a racecar driver. Admission is $20 per day; kids under 12 are free.

Black Tie & Tailpipes Gala
Friday, July 16 – 6:30 pm – 11:00 pm

This formal event benefiting our charities is a must for any auto enthusiast as the designated parking area turns into a car show. We are pleased to announce Lexus Pittsburgh as the lead sponsor and we look forward to new and exciting happenings. For the first time we are holding the gala at Valley Brook Country Club.

Invitational Car Show on Walnut Street
Monday July 19 – 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Nestled on Shadyside’s charming Walnut Street is a sampling of what’s to come on the weekend at Schenley Park with this impressive display of rare, classic and exotic cars. Show cars by invitation; free to spectators.

Countryside Tour
Tuesday, July 20 – 10:00 am– 3:00 pm

If you have a vintage car (1983 and older), you’re invited to come tour the Laurel Highlands with us. The route changes each year. We are excited to announce that the tour is returning to Jamison Farm for an incredible lunch and continuing through the southwestern Pennsylvania countryside. Traditionally a Thursday event, the tour is moving to Tuesday.

Waterfront Car Cruise
Tuesday, July 20 – 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Just about any car can be found among this impressive gathering of approximately 600 vehicles at the Waterfront Shopping Center in Homestead. The show is open to all vehicle makes and years for a suggested $5 donation to our charities. Vendors will be present.

Downtown Parade & Plaza Display
Wednesday, July 21 – 10:30 am – 2:00 pm

The thunder of 100 race and show cars can be heard from Station Square into downtown Pittsburgh as they parade their way to car displays at the U.S. Steel Tower, PPG Place and Market Square. Cost is $10 to participate in the parade and car display with proceeds benefiting our charities. A special PVGP Press Conference/Corvette unveiling at PPG Place at 11;30 AM.

Grand Prix Tune-Up Party in Market Square
Wednesday, July 21 – 6:00 pm– 9:00 pm

Moving to Market Square, it is the city’s most unique car show against the downtown skyline. Attendees can bring their own cars to be a part of the Car Showcase in Market Square.

“Passport to Elegance” Jet Center Party
Thursday, July 22 – 6:00 pm– 10:00 pm

Get ready to swing back to the age of glamour and opulence at our Great Gatsby themed luxury bash held in the 18,000 square foot hangar of the LYNX Jet Center at Allegheny County Airport. Arrive in style, donning your flapper dresses and bow ties to party amidst rare and exotic vintage cars and airplanes in an atmosphere of pure luxury and fanfare. Forbes Avenue of Speed – Parade and Driver Reception
Friday, July 23 – 6:30 pm– 8:30 pm

Experience the sights, sounds and smells of the vintage race cars as they parade from the paddock at Schenley Park into Squirrel Hill and are displayed on Forbes Avenue between Shady and Murray Avenues. Meet the racers in person and get up close to the cars. The show is open to the public while the drivers enter Orr’s Jewelers for a private reception.

Schenley Park Race Weekend
Saturday, July 24

International Car Show – 9:30 am – 5:00 pm

Join us for a day full of family-friendly automobile-themed activity at the Bob O’Connor Golf Course in Pittsburgh’s Schenley Park. Thousands of classic, antique and exotic vehicles fill the golf course for our International Car Show. If speed is more your thing, watch 150 vintage racers compete on the track all day to qualify for Sunday’s featured races. During the day, grab a snack at our food courtyard or shop at our Vendor Village. Spectators are free, but donations are encouraged. International Car Show entry fee is $40 per show car for the weekend.
