NO BURNOUTS... When you see a show description that states "No burnouts, no revving, no loud music, no two-stepping (whatever that means)...Respect the location", what is the first thought that goes through your mind? Mine is: there's been problems with the attendees and I don't want to attend.

In my viewpoint, if you feel that you need to state that in your description then you scaring off potential attendees. What makes you think that the attendees will pay any attention to these words weeks later when they attend the event. These people are not the type to care.

I repeatedly remove this from description because I want the show to be successful and don't want anyone, including myself, to be bias against an organizer that is just trying to provide a fun time while we all enjoy our passion for cars, no matter what kind they are.

Thank you for your comments. Always a great read. I had one person disagree, that the statement should be stated. I'm from the old school (and I'm not that old) that bad behavior rules should go without saying. Of course we have a lack of common sense in this country. My DJ has stopped playing just so we can all hear the idiot who wants to show off his stereo. Now if the guy comes up to the DJ and says "hey can I have 5 minutes to show off", we'd say of course you can. I understand the expense and time involved in that kind of mod, so have at it, but ask first and then stop. But it doesn't go that way, unfortunately.

I still think that a group who is trying to attract members, no matter what the hobby, should have an open forum for people to see what they are getting into before they join. If I have to join before I can see it, it's just not worth it to me. The less I'm out there with signups, joining, giveing, emails, etc, the better my life is. Too much social clutter. I think if you want to attract people, then people need to know what type of group it is before they join.

Plus if someone puts something offensive, then others will see what an idiot looks like and you can then be deleted. I've never had anything offensive on my Facebook pages since I started. I just don't attract that type of crowd.

I have been having discussions with my facebook guy over his restricting people from even
SEEING the Keystone Motor Club Facebook unless they first become a member.
He says that is so no one will post anything offensive. LOL

Considering that back in his wild youth, he once drove a car that some people refer to as "the car that lights the tires leaving a car meet, then turns 90 degrees into the crowd", I understand the kind of jerks he escaped from, when he joined us.

But we have "rehabilitated" him and neither he nor anyone else is likely to do that stuff
around us in MY car club.

Why is that?
Because we work for a living, are farmers, retirees, etc that cashed in the 401K and bought the
classic car that we loved in high school. We are definitely NOT the buttheads that
go looking for trouble.

and it seems to me that if anything offensive should ever appear, it could be removed by my facebook guy first with a warning and a second time allows them to join someone elses facebook and someone elses club instead of Keystone Motor Club.

My understanding of two-stepping is revving the engine up against the rev limiter
until it hits the limiter and starts backfiring.......and when done right in front of the cops on Church street, is enough to get you thrown out of downtown Orlando along with every import car of the 10,000 that visited the VERY LAST ....Mystery Meat car meet some years back.

and years later that kid is probably still complaining that he has no place that will let him
use their parking lot to hang out.......and that's just too damn bad....butthead.
Maybe you had it coming.
