I always wanted to do a conversion on that car an a (TwinTurbo V8 setup)LOL. I was thinking about seeing if anyone knows what parts I need to complete the conversion. Like a parts list so I can buy it one part at a time (slowfunds). That will be one of my project goals.

Might help to ask on an actual lexus board. Might be able to name some specific parts and adapter plates you will need.

I know on club lexus there's a guy attempting to use an R154, and the w58 tranny has already been done before. I believe it's a member on here that has the w58 swap.

It'll probably be pretty pricey as a warning. The transmission alone is around $400 or so, and bellhousings/adapters for it are incredibly expensive. There's a place in Australia that makes them for $1k, but I dont think I've found anything in the U.S. that wasnt $800 or more.

 

I know it wont be cheap but I can start getting the parts going whenever I see a deal online. The only problem is what part off of what year car do I use that is compatible or special parts I need. It wont be easy but you have to start somewhere.Thanks for all the info ppl. an I'll see If I can give jake a call. I think people that convert use parts from turbo MkIII/MkIV Supras. The N/A transmission in the Supra is the same one thats in the 5 speed SC300s, but the assembly between the turbo and N/A cars is different...push vs pull type clutch IIRC, so the slave cylinder has to be from an R154.

I think the 1JZ-GTE and 2JZ-GTE Soarers overseas came with R154 transmissions too.

 

Get rid of that SC and get your a VAN..Your gonna need..If you really want it done then ship it to me...There's a 5 years turn around!!!!!!LOL..What's going on K?
