People should stop reffering to the Formula Atlantic motors as 4AG's .

Sure they share a block design . It isn't a production block nor is the head . Nothing on that motor is on a productino 4AG . it's been micropolished,balanced shotpenned to the brink of God .

It's like how people called the old JGTC Supra motor's 3S-GTE's . They were 503E's a design based upon hte 3S-GTE but shared no production parts .

and the reason I asked was because i had heard the term before (formula atlantic referring to a 4AGE)

 

it is a 4ag. the only tru diff between is the fact the it is 1.7ltrs. you can build the motor out of 4age. so why is it not 4age. its the motors base platform. it had to be to race in n2

 

I was stating that it isn;t a production design anymroe . Somewhat how they call 1.7 stroker 4AG's , 5AG's .

This has been argued over many times and if you wanna spend the 20k for the motor more power to you . Not streetable but I would put it in any car I could fit it in just for shit's and giggles .

I just don't see how calling it a 4AG is working . It's not a 4AG anymore . Find 1 part on that motor you can get off another car with a 4AG . Just 1 .

The blocks aren't stock Toyota blocks . They are machined inhouse at the shop that spec's the Forumla Atlantic motor's .

TED Components in Canada is one of these shops . He builds anything imaginable for the 4AG .
