Does anyone know what is the exhaust noise limit for the street? I've had a few friends with after market exhaust systems being haggled by cops about the noise. I'm planning on buying an APEX-i N1 or GT Spec for my MR2, but if I'm gonna get banned by the cops then what else is there for the 2? I heard that Greddy isn't that much better than stock and its really heavy

Those systems aren't nearly loud enough to get you pulled over . I have heard the GT Spec and N1 and they are both pretty mellow . The turbo quiets the exhuast plenty .

Getting back to the subject though the noise limit law is supposed to be 95db's at 100ft

Accually the law states that the noise can not be any louder then Stock. or so i hear. but some of the name brand systems are 50 state legal so you can use that as a street side defence even if you dont have one of the 50 State legal systems if the cop is stupid and not a dick.
the only time ive ever been pulled over for that was when i had open header on my NA corolla, AW11boy was there for that excitment. i have known peopel that get pulled over all the time for normal systems but it hasent happened to me.

Cool beans. So if the GT Spec and the N1 are good to go then which one should it be? I'm plannin on getttingthe GT spec.

Jake , Sergio has the GT Spec .

I would choose the GT Spec . It is one of the best power producing systems on the market for the MR2 .


Have you thought about the Blitz NuR Spec ? I belive it adds like 15HP and 14 ft/lb's . Some people don't like it's looks though , so check it out first . I personally think it looks great .

I have 2.5" straight through and a test pipe it's loud as hell. I never get pulled over. I suppose it's where you drive. That and if your car isn't one of those "known" type cars they will probably think there's something wrong and just leave you alone. That or just give you a warning or a "fix it" ticket.

I have no muffler on my setup and I also have a friend with an 93 NA mr2 (pseudorealityx) with no muffler, neither of us have been pulled over.
