I went to The Childrens Home Charity event at Sun Toyota of New Port Richey.
It was a great event! It was impressive
that the organizers honored their commitment even with the rain.
Not only did the class and overall winners get a trophy, all winners each got a $100 bill!

Thumbs up for the Sun Toyota organizers starting their show/meet from
1 to 5PM, giving people time to cruise to Tampa and support two toy programs
on the same day. Mike the announcer was outgoing, kept things moving along
and still finished on time. He may have another job, but I told him
he could make more money doing something else. LOL He's good.

More than one of those C-notes got re-donated to the charity.
That speaks well for the entrants.

Door prize raffles made some money for the Children's Home. Someone else
won the BBQ $20 gift certificate instead of me. Other people won detailing,
JL speakers, Alpine speakers, Play Station 3 and it was my number they pulled
for a free $200+ window tinting.

Tampa/Toyota Styles won Best Car Club as well as one of their
members winning a class trophy. When the show ended, The entire club hit
the road and cruised to Tampa to support DriveUT and the toy drive at
University of Tampas parking garage.

Import cars owned the top of that place. Great view of the city. Great DJ and break dancers.
Elevators to the ground floor and a short trip across the street to the restrooms. And.......almost a straight line to a college-hottie filled student cafeteria with lots of choices to eat.....have
to be careful how I say that...

The DRiveUT trophies were a unique one-of-a-kind type. The exhaust sound
contest.......when held on top of the garage did not attract the cops! It was an
ideal spot and I imagine that 6 years ago, the Sibling Rivalry show/meet in Jacksonville
started out the same way.

There was an actual stock car on display that belonged to Dale Earnhardt
and it was fitted with lights and license tag to be street legal. I've seen enough
of them I can tell you it was the real race car, tires and all. Not some fake-o look
alike. The car owner told me he sometimes drives his son to school in it! Cool!

I hope the organizers of these two toy drive show/meets will make this a cooperative
annual event and cruise and that both will share the same enthusiasm for next year.

It was good to see Toyota people who I knew willing to cruise and support both
events on the same day. Thanks, folks.-Bob
