Anyone know how to do a 7M-GTE swap into a Cressida?
I'm looking into buying a Cressida, but only if I can get at least a 7M-GTE and manual tranny swap in for under $7. Just wondering if this could be done. Or other options. The car I'm looking at is a 90 Cressida 144k miles, asking $1,500 firm. It has a blown head, the front has had an accident (it's fixed, but it's not lined up straight), but other that that it's VERY clean. 1 owner. All work done at a Toyota dealership, w/ paperwork. Need help. I tried google and nothing came up. TIA.

Why cresseda? And Why 7m? 3s-gte costs around 2.5k to my knowledge, tranny shouldnt cost more then that, i think with all the electronics included and if u do the work, it would be under 7 k

\it should go right in, the cressida comes with a 7M-GE, we have a 7M-GTE without the turbo.... I have a 400 mile CT26 turbo for sale rebuilt by Majestic turbo for 375, comes with exhaust housing and wastegate....LMK if you are interested on the 7MGTE
Cressida is a good choice I wouldn't mind having one sometime in life. They are RWD and have been used as "Luxary Drift Cars." The 7M is only one possible swap and good if you don't have the money for something else. It has been proven that a 1JZ-GTE engine has been swapped in. If you really want information on what is necessary to do this you should do a search at http://www.club4ag.com BBS. This topic has been brought up a bunch of times and has been discussed about will be needed. Next you might maybe go for a Chaser conversion.

All you should need would be 7MGTE fuel rail and injectors for higher boost an IC some piping and a CT26 mani . Hell you can find used 60-1 upgraded CT26's FS for 250 or so with like 4k miles on them .
Just go to a junkyard and pull the manifold and fuel rail and injectors the IC and piping wopuld be useful too . The N/A 7M bottom end wont hold much over 10psi with GTE injectors so be forewarned .
You could buy a full Turbo 5spd Supra for a couple G and do the swap easier and use the fuel pump anda everything .

i did an oil change to one of those in like 1997 and i remember thinking.. holy shit.. thats a supra motor (for all intents and purposes).... ever since then i liked cressidas
