Need help with my is300 2jzge
The story, My water pump failed, end result my head gasket blew.
I replaced the water pump, headgasket, timing belt etc etc. Now when i try to start the car It just turns over and over but doesnt start. I have fuel and spark. I check my ignition system, cam sensor, crank sensor, coil packs, spark plug wires, they are all in spec compared to the factory shop manual resistance wise. My ecu throws a code of 2138 which is telling me my tps sensor is not giving the correct volatage etc. But then would a tps sensor not allow the car to start?? The only visual problem i could pin point it my throttle and throttle body sounds messed up. Like a gear is broken. But im guessing that shouldnt stop it from starting.
Any advice guys

The TPS shouldn't make it not start it would run like crap and then possibly die out. Did you line the cam gears up correctly along with the timing belt? Check the marks on the block with cylinder #1 tdc. That might be your issue. Did you have this code before your vehicle overheated?

thats what i firgured. So far what im realizing is I have fuel to the rail but not after the injector is there anything sensor that would stop the injector from pulsing??
I had no codes when it started to overheat. It was more like my temp gauge in the car went to cold and the car spurttered and died.
I replaced the coolant sensor on the head nothing.

It honestly just sounds like the motor isn't timed properly. As Sean mentioned reset the crank to Top Dead Center. Line the Timing mark on the crank pully with the 0 on the Lower Timing belt cover. Then set the timing on the crank shafts. Manually crank the motor 360 degrees. One full cycle, and then check to make sure all the marks line up at Top Dead Center. If not, readjust and repeat.
i rechecked the timing this morning its still lined up, Anyone live close to brandon wanna come by and take a look?

Can't do that sorry. Possibly you have something not connected electrically wise to a sensor or whatnot. Is the tps plugged in? It just doesn't sound right that that code would pop up after you took everything apart. Do a full check of all the electrical including the battery connections to power and ground. You didn't put the terminals on wrong did you or didn't disconnect the battery when removing all of the parts? If you didn't disconnect the battery something might have gotten power or shorted and you might have toasted the ecu.

ok i replaced the tps so that code is cleared, still have the same issue,
I decided to recheck the timing again.
The manual says to make sure the vvti cam can rotate 30 degree's. when my lines line up i can rotate it 30 degrees to the left only. is this correct or is it soppused to be when the line is lined up it should move 15 degrees right and 15 degrees left??
