Default AE86 rear differential

i need another rear dif, i dont care if its open or lsd. did toyota use the same style differential in anything else? i dont mean with the ring gear, ill just re-use mine. but will another dif from something other than an AE86 fit? i am in desperate need of one. i cant afford the KAAZ that i want right now, so just an oem one will have to do.

welcome to the woderful world of owning an ae86. u could use a diff out of a 82-85 celica, but it has drum brakes and a taller final drive. but it will bolt in to get you buy.

you could also use a diff out of an sr5 corolla, but its weaker and has drum brakes.

if you want the same thing that u have right now then its corolla gt-s only.

drift car eh? so its already trashed and crashed? only 4 lug option solid rear you have that i know of is the 79-81 mk1 supra. has disc brakes too. its a 7.5in rear instead of the 6.7in, and you can use the same lsd's as the 7.5in trucks, like the truetrac helica lsd i run in my mk2. good luck finding a mk1 in the junkyard though. tons of them ~7-10 years ago. none now.

^ this.. I have seen a few write ups on this.. you have to remove and re-weld the brackets.

Deff worth it... if you can find one..

just go get a diff out of a 78-85 celica and throw it in for the time being, then rebuild yours and put it back in. send it to weir out in cali. he's the man.
