Default MR2 smokes slightly while idling

I bought a 92 MR2 turbo with 61,000 miles on it and as far I can tell the only problem is some internal cosmetic wear and tear. But when I started to push the car a little to around 6-7k rpms the car started to smoke while idling. The smoke is white/blue, more on the white side. The only modifications done is a greddy turbo timer. The timing belt has been changed and the ac has been updated. Got any ideas why it would be smokin? It only smokes while idling.

Smoke smell like burned oil? Oil entering the engine and combusting with the fuel probably causes blue smoke...

hmn what else...

coolant/water vaporized while in combusting chainbur with fuel maybe...

id have to agree check valve seals, and do a compression check just to be on a safe side... who knows maybe ya got a cracked head or block...

( highly unlikely but who knows? )

Could be a blown turbo, you can check shaft play on the turbo by taking off the intake tube and wiggling the compressor wheel. If the wheel touches the inner housing, it's shot.

I don't think that its the turbo. But I do think it is the valve seals or maybe a bent valve. I don't think its a bent valve though, just the seals. The car smokes only when the turbo timer kicks in to cool the car down, and it doesn't smoke while its idling on its own.
How much work do you guys think a new valve seal work take to replace? and how much do they usually go for?

Valve seals are cheap, the labor to replace them is not. It would cost like $200-400 parts and labor at the dealer.

I would like to do it myself, but I just don't know how to do it . Do you guys know anyone who is familiar with 2s? Or maybe a shop around the Sarasota/Bradenton/Tampa Bay area to help? I'm currently thinking about taking the car to "Lowe's Automotive" in Sarasota. (That's where I live). The shop has helped alot of RX-7s hit 9s. Really they specialize in rotaries but can work on just about any type of car. Anyway, its probably the valve seals, so would it be the intake valve or exhaust valve seal? I would think it would be the intake valve seal, but I'm no mechanic. And what is involved in replacing the valve seal? The local dealer at Gettle Toyota of Sarasota claims that it would cost me about 750 just for labor! Which I think is bullshit.

I live in Sarasota, that's about 2 hours from Orlando. Why? You interested in working on my car for me? Not for free of course
