T-tops? They usually leak. Check out for that. Rust is a major bitch on AW11s. I'm pretty sure 87s have the C52 transmission so you don't need to worry about 5th gear pop out. Check the e-brake cables. It probably won't be a deal breaker, but they usually snap. There's lots of info out there. Try MR2oc.com and MR2.com

^^^ agreed. rust in the quarter arches and in the rear trunk under the carpet stinks.

stock rebiuld on the 4age and just do lil bolt ons headers intake nothing serious want reliable fun.
my phone got disconected so havent picked it up yet -_-
has rust on front of hood and botom of left fender.(so far what she showed me in pics)

mines an 86 and it has rust on the roof above the doors, and rust by the trunk...seems like that's commen. and the E-brake dont work..so i take it the brake cable snapped. Anyone else have over heating problems with there Mr2 ? mine had a major over heatin problem and i spent $500 replacing the WHOLE heating and cooling system except the head gasket and water pump..and now that i replaced all that the head gasket blew...
