he is on to something sometimes if you have a bad cps you wont get any fuel or spark also check your 5 volt references at your sensors(map, ignitor, tps, etc)cause that could lead to a bad ecu like these guys are telling you.and also check your wiring harness a bad wire could also cause low voltage to your sensor causing your problem. good luck hope you get it started

did you ever check to make sure all the pins on the ecu that need +12v are getting +12v like i said in the other thread? if youll pay for my gas and lunch i can try to come by one weekend and check it out. its a 2-2.5hr drive for me each way though.

i joined the celicasupra yahoo group back in 2000. bought my first car (85 mk2 p-type 5 speed) in 99 when i was 17. had 10 more supras since then. lol. isnt much if anything i havent done involving supras i dont think.

 

That sounds like a plan buddy, let me at least change that CPS this weekend, and get that out of the way. Will a 2jz one work on the 1jz? And my best bet is to get it from toyota right? I'll change that and at least make sure its not that so i dont waste ur time driving all the way down here and end up been that. I'll still try a couple more things and if i still dont get it running ill let you know. I really appriciate this. Thanksa again

 

iirc there is a crank sensor and 2 cam sensors on the 1jz, just like the 2jz. like i said, havent dealt with them much. but when im there looking i can see whats what and check the wiring etc.. you got internet right so we can pull up diagrams if needed? if not ill try to download and save all the ones i can find and bring the laptop with me. for what you paid for the wiring you could of done a megasquirt 2 setup. would of been more benificial as well. let you tune it any time you want properly for whatever upgrades you make. good thing your gonna be busy this weekend, got a friends wedding to go to sat and then sunday helpin a friend pull a trans and change the seals for his truck.

 

yeah, this goes for just about anyone with a 1jz in the tampa area... its cheaper to pay will here to go megasquirt than to pay for a harness from tech2 or even phoenix tuning. buy the guy some random cool part, offer some beer.. etc lol

1jz's on stock ecu are a waste. all the cheap dollar per hp mods involve spinning the motor past the pathetic stock 7200 rshared_pm revlimit.

 

no beer, i dont like the taste of alcohol. a cold 24 pack of mt dew in the can would be awesome though. to build the harness right it takes awhile. spent 2 days installing mine, but i had already made my fuse box before hand. prolly spent most of a day on that. but i soldiered every wire and repinned the entire fuse box i pulled from the camaro. and since then ive learned ALOT about tuning it since i did it myself first hand. started with base maps from a guy in arizona with a similar setup and went from there. ill also be switching to the stock cps soon and running a camry ignitor to fire the camry coils im already using. currently using 2 edis 6 ignitors to fire them.

yeah i dont like the idea of using the edis stuff. i hear theres some guys running the 1jz of the cam sensor, basically as a single tooth wheel.
