alot of wiring issues to get the instrument cluster to work. it would be best to get the OUTSIDE AND INSIDE harnesses from a sr20det clip or something AND get a 240sx cluster. then you might be able to wire it up. i wouldnt even think about trying to run a/c on it.

and i have no idea on how the motor mounts line up or not. it would be alot of work.

its easier to drop in a 20 valve 4a-ge or a 4a-gze motor.

Depends on really how much you want to spend... You can go dan's way if you want to do it some what cheaply... Or the dream way (money coming out of your ears) Firts order up a Stack diplay from stackltd.com That will be your new gauge cluster, then get a tec2 or Motec and wire it to the SR20, then get yourself a switch panel from Moroso and wire your ignition and headlight to it. And voila you have one badass sr5 (please do not ruin an gts with this swap)

Oh yeah I will tell you have teh 20v swap goes we are currently undergoing a swap from an ae101 into a ae92.

Yea Al said about the best way to do things .

Why put a SR20 in it an AE85 . Put in a 3SGTE keep it Toyota and have about teh same platform to start on Power wise .

Getting the stock Gauge cluster to work is going to be a Biatch . The stock AE85 cluster is ugly as hell anyway . What would be cool is to yank a Cluster from a wrecked Turbo MR2 and make a new dash out of FiberGlass or somethign and use the MR2 cluster and warning lights so you dont modify as much and still get useage of the sensors and stuff .

IMO the best swap would be to get a 4AGZE bottom end slap on a Turbo kit and put a Nice FMIC and a Standalone and get an LSD .

Can you say "Drift Car" ?

What if i dropped in a 20v JDM 4age? would the stock gauges still work (despite their butt-ugliness)? Also, is there anywhere i could pick one up locally, and who should do the swap? and finally, how can i get some of that pimp ass JDM bodywork on the front end (hood, lights, fenders)?

I didn't know JDM stuff came from the UK... And I definately do not think its crap. But to each his/her own.

We at Garage Advance can do the swap for you, we can even get the front clip for you. Just need to know which 20v you want, Black top (map sensor) or silver top (AFM) email me at alpowers1@yahoo.com
