I read this Thing can be made less restrictive..its a sensor
or someth
That is called a MAF(Mass Air Flow Sensor) and if you do not know what that cubed metal thing is you should not be messing with it.

the AFM mod ?? dont do it yourself. have someone that has done it a few times before !!! that things like 300 bucks for a new one. ill tell you half of how to do it. you remove the plastic top plate with a razor move the gear a cerain way two clicks (im not telling you in deatil so your ass dont use my directions and fuck something up and come ask me about it) then reseal it with silicone right ?? all it does is make it run a tad richer i believe anyways you more pedal response ect. it takes a good 2 or 3 weeks to notice a difference. it worth it to do it after sufficiant mods. i would go with the battery relocation mod first !!!!!

no man he aint talking about the tvis. your thinking of the mk2 where they take out butterflies or leave them open. the mk1 trives of the tvis open @ 4400 with it open all the time that shit would bog and lean out.
he means the AFM Mod !!
do suspension and handling first !! the car was made for corners not to be fast in a line. do intake exhaust maybe cams then all suspenion. i believe bikeboy of mr2.com message board made a custom rear stut brace for the na mk1.
later

The mass aim meter mod ive done like a million times. nover really to an mr2. but almost all other toyotas. the power gains are not that great but get better with more air flo mods. and it really doent let more air in it adjusts the fuel mixture.

as for Tvis im porting out the tvis from my aw11 manafold for the fun of it and ide sell the manafold and modified tvis plates when im finished

by porting out i mean im do away with all of it. turning it into a 4 runner manafold no tvis at all

if you want help with the afm or tvis get me on aim : Dvreanx
