Default exhaust questions

I just put a summit muffler into an 87 mr2 with 2 1/2 inch tip and piping. i want to take out the cat. . would that be a bad idea? i dont want it to be super loud, just a low rumble is fine. it purrs now just a slight change in depth of noise but not loud at all. . .any suggestions would be appreciated thanks!

Don't use a fart can on it and you should be fine. If you have a stock muffler available for the car go for that then. If you using the one you have now cut the cat and put a resonator on it to dampen the sound. Cats. restrict flow cut the bitch out Fla. doesn't have emissions for now anyways.

You dont stand to gain much with out a cat. A free flowing one would be better.
I thought the MRs need to have the cat on there something with exhaust circulation and the piping being so short...
might of been 3rd gen idk.
