looking to build a fun sleeper, something along the lines of a boosted 4AG swapped AE101 sedan corolla, does anyone have any info on this swap? and trust me, i looked into a 3SG swap and it exceeds my budget/willingness to track down scarce parts. so 4ag it is. thanks in advance.

 

4AGE 20valve is a straight swap into the 93-97 Corollas, but if you get the Blacktop 20valve with the 6speed, then you will have to modify the trans mount only for the 6speed. But all 4AGE motors with the 5speed is a direct swap, do the wiring or I can recommend(sp) someone to do the harness which will be plug and play, and you will be good to go.

20v or a AE101 GZE best bet. GZE is pretty straight forward not too much, still got boost, and if you decide to go bigger everything is already good for boost. You are going to put too much money into a turbo 4AGE cause nearly everything needs to be changed and @ 7pnds (I would never run more on a stock bottom end) you will prolly only make the same HP a 20v makes and have more money and a less efficent head.

 

Sidenote, I have an AE101 E58 LSD transmission. Was going to use it on my buggy but meh.

 

i might go with the gze then, I'd have fun running the SC while im putting my turbo setup together. boosting a 20v would be pretty outlandish though, im just not sure if i'd trust the bottom end past 7 psi.

Screw a 4A.. Take you're time an go gen2 3sge, best gen for the average joe.. I've thought about pulling my 3sge from the mr2 an selling it for a 101 chassis to dump the 3s in.. 200hp in a 101 sounds sexy

 

i did a 20V blacktop into mine. really fun. total sleeper. the guys that were on the fence about the swap are totally bit by it now after test driving my car. 5th gear i can take the car up to 110mph without breaking a sweat.

going 3s would require so much more work compared to a 4ag, the 4ag will achieve my power goals just fine anyway.

i know this is an old thread but, what does it take to drop a 4age silver top in a 93 corolla, it comes with 1.6L DOHC 20-VALVE SILVER TOP ENGINE, AUTOMATIC FWD TRANSMISSION, WIRING HARNESS, & ECU . what do i need to mate the harness ? what else do i need to do? thanks for any help.
