If i buy a 88 toyota supra can i convert that bumber into a 89-92 with no problem or will i run into an issuse? Are the parts interchangeable?




I wanna make the light blue [88] one look like the white one [89]? can it be done

yeah its on craigslist and it bothers me each time i see it lol.

Its an 87-88 bumper but with an 89 "bump" in the top middle of it...looks weird..

 

IMO it looks better than a real 89+ bumper. I hate the ambiguous, color matched grill on them.

Anyways, the conversion takes little to no modification to do. I havent looked what exactly is involved, but its simple. Do a quick search on a Supra related forum.

 

i just did mine and it seems to bolt right up as fare as i can tell! as long as you have all the grills and lights from the new bumper. im not done with mine yet cause im waiting on my front mount but i took the old one out and just shoved the new one in its place for now. it slid right in! i did the same thing to my old supra and i dont remember moding anything! i think its the rear tail lights you have to drill a couple of holes to go from older to new!

 

yeah they are bolt on. no extra mods except paint

 

damn that white car is weird it has the 89+ side mirrors too but then it has a 88 tail

Yeah the N/As had a dealer option for a pre89 wing. I havent found anything consistent outside of that. For instance:
