7mgte swap

probably not the cheapest but the safest.

Cheapest would be 7m turbo stuff on the 6m in the car. But not the safest imo.

7m-gte swap. turboing the 5m has positives and drawbacks.cheap to do but might blow up.7m-gte is safe and reliable and well documented on the mk2.
celicasupra.com has a section just for the 7m swap.

P.S. 5M-GE was stock on the MK2, 6m never came to usa unless a jdm import.

7mgte swap is the way to go. simple as can be. i know, i did it back in 2001. turboing a 5m/6m is just a headache, even if you already got a standalone. ive had everything for more 7mgte swaps prolly 4-5 times now. always sell them as 1 turbo car is enough. however i will recomend a rebuild of the 7mgte you get before putting it in and a mhg with arp head studs mandatory in the process. btw, if he needs any parts lmk. i got tons of parts for sale. even aftermarket rims.
