So my 240 blew on me and im in need of a car badd for work and school
and my co-worker has a ES at his house

1997 Es300 with a V6
Mint Outside but inside is a lil rough cracked seat's the usual for age
102xxx mi
$2000

Now he used to drive it daily untill it got a Misfire
so we Metered it and i show's a Misfire on Cylnder 2


- New Plug's
- New Wire's
- New Coilpack

now im a lil shaky on if should get it
and know jack **** on these car's
so some help would be nice

Where the codes ever cleared? I'll assume yes. Very low miles for the car I would say go for it. You can find parts car on craigslist for cheap. The price is real good also. Where the 02 sensors ever changed? He might have installed the wires incorrectly. There is a possibility that there could be a worn wire going to the coil or cut wire. If you could get some more info i might be able to help you out.

 

Im pretty sure that one has 3 coil packs and 3 wires. And no distributor. Thats an awesome car but watch out as some of them have been known to sludge up the engines and start knocking or smoking blue out of the exhaust. For 2000 dolllars id be all over it.

As for the problem with it. Id just take it to a Toyota dealer. Its usually 1.0 Hrs diag time and they are almost guaranteed to find the problem. Bring it by my job. WE are behind the plaza with bruger king, bealls, and Las Vallartas restaraunt. If hes already replaced those parts and you dont know anything about the car just bring it by.
