worst possible - still an easy swap, great results, lots of different routes available and end product still a fun stock motor that rocks in an 86. Using the flywheel and clutch from the 20v (212?) the motor bolts perfectly to the t5o and you can even use your old motors mounts. the two debated and difficult aspects are ignition and cooling. the exhaust manifold is easily reused from a 4ag after rewelding the end flanges. the 20v motors were fwd - when flipped longitudinally the original placement of the 20v distributor meets the firewall. additionally, the stock coolant intake pipe interferes with the firewall. the oldschool, tried and true - but highly controversial choice is to bang your firewall to the point of breaking a big ol hole and everything fits fine. the motor doesnt run with the body harness and ill explain how this affects your decisions in a minute. if you find the idea of beating your firewall to death offensive other options exist. I personally used a popular method that blocks of the rear coolant outlet and runs from the water pump reverse and out the front leaving the fewest hoses lying around. the method is available on forums.club4ag in the 20v section authored by mr john. i cant write anymore
go on club4ag and the tech notes detail the swap and problems
