Ok so i just got his Supra for cheap. the only prob is that it wont go over 20mph...my buddy and i looked at it and think it is a vacuum leak. or that there is to much oil going into the intake manifold.

im really interested in this supra and dont want to get rid of it but if i cant get it runnin properly than i wont be able to keep it. im going into the air force and would like to take this car with me but if its not running im not.

The car does start and idle normal, but the 20mph limit thing is a big prob.

ive been to every supra forum and had no luck. any help would be much appreciated.

 

Auto?? If so, it could be the tranny computer bad, bad speed sensor, or solenoids inside the tranny.

 

ya its an auto, well my buddy is comin over soon to help me see how much fuel pressure the injectors are getting. could be the fuel regulator.

 

Does it break up or run like shit when you hit the 20mph mark?

 

define break up? its kind of like riding a go kart and having the pedal to the floor and not able to go any faster. thats the best i can explain it.

By break up I mean does it missfire and pop or act like its not running right or able to rev up or is it reved as high as it will go just wont shift gears.

 

my buddy came over, you all prob know him, craig. and weve come to the conclusion that were gonna take the cat off and see if it makes a difference. bcuz he said that it sounds and looks to be clogged.

other than that ive heard her roar and it was nice! just hearing the engine was sweet! but 2morrow consists of me removing the cat. just gotta jack her up. ill give some updates when i do that.

i live in winter haven by the S-curves and mcd's on cypress gardens blvd.

didnt have time to take cat off today, and it rained ne wayz.
