So The Other Day I Was Looking At A 95' Supra Which Looked A Little Rough, But Still It Was Workable. I Looked At It And I Noticed That It Was Automatic. When I Went To Turn Away The Man Said I Needed To Look Under The Hood That The Car Supposidly Had 800 Hp. I Didnt Belive Him, And Still Dont But The Car Had A Decent Sized Single Turbo All Heat Wrapped And Some Other Bolt-ons. Ill Admit I Was Impressed As The Price Of The Car Was Only $15,000. Now To The Point Of This Thread, What Would It Take To Make This Car Into A Manual. And Is It Worth It? I Just Figured It Was A Cheap Way To Start If So.

I can only assume that you're talking about a certain black MKIV with a black carbon fiber hood and gold emblems, right? That car was for sale at Tampa Hondaland for 12k last month when I went to see it. Not 800

Is it still there? That car has been used and abused to the MAX. The dash isn't even attached to the car, Doors replaced, all around trashed MKIV. It's an NA-T contrary to what the salesmen are are saying.

**Paraphrasing as this was over a month ago**

Salesman - "It's a twin turbo, 6 speed automatic"

Me - "It's an original Non turbo with an aftermarket single turbo"

Salesman - "No, no, it's a twin turbo"

Me - "Can you show them to me?"

Salesman - "Look, this is a cash only car. It has been modified and we don't know exactly what has been done. All we can say is that this thing is ready to go and fast."

Me - "This car has been hit all over the place and the airbags have been deployed. Is there frame damage?"

Salesman - "I can see you really don't want this car. I know you probably know more than me about these cars so I'm not going to waste my time."

Me - "I'll give you $7,000 cash and be on my way"

Salesman - "No way. I don't think so but I'll ask my manager if you're serious"

At that point, I hopped in my car and left

i prefer only buying from people i know, friends that have bragged about work that has ben done etc before puttig it up for sale. you guys are smart for not believeing all that they say.

 

yea, i work at tampa hondaland and the day that car came in was ready to buy it. that is until i walked up to it and said "what the F***!!!!" my sales manager tried giving me the whole sales pitch and i pretty much shut him down, as he obviously didn't know a thing about the car. I offered him $5000 and he got his feelings hurt, LOL.

as for the car, I pretty sure there is not an original body panel on the entire left side, the tranny was leaking, and the spoiler looked liked it was spray painted. Good luck to whoever ended up buying it, you're gonna need it.

 

i think my friend nick bought the supra yall r talkin about. I only seen it in night time but he said he bought it in tampa from a dealer for about that price. but his has a carbon fiberhood an is black wit gold emblems, rims an the wastegate isnt installed properly,so it sounds horrible wen he boosts, but he says it makes over 500 at the wheels, wit a "built" automatic but the stall converter dont work? personally i dont think it makes that. so yea that sux for him if its the 1 yall r talkin about.
