Ok here is the scoup, i HAD a 98 camry.. till i rear ended someone, good 5s-fe engine in it with tranny.. only 130k on them, well i was wondering would this engine fit into early 90's celica's? The camry was my source of transportation and i want to use whats left of the car.. any info woult be greatfully appreciated!

yes ,definately,positively...you may have to swap things from the old(bad engine) to the new one,you may need the axles from the celi to make it work but i'm not sure,as long as you have parts from both cars you're good...there may also be issues with the chassis plug to ecu in which case you need to look up the pinouts of both ecus and change things accordingly, since you are using the camry ecu in a celi which are 8 years apart...also i'm assuming you are talking about two manual tranny cars here,if i'm not mistaken if either car is auto the ecu will be different from the standard...at any rate it can all be worked out...for a price(jk)

is the celica a st, gt, or gts? I think the 5s will only fit the gt and gts without major modifications. I would info search on celicatech.com or celispeed.com under the 5th gen forums

You're st celica that comes with a 1.6 will not work. Its not worth the extra working to modify the 600 celica to just put in a 5sfe. Find a GT/GTS shell.

ok, basically to answer your question, your 5sfe will fit into any celica from 86-99. most celica's came with the 5sfe. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there were some celica's from 86-99 that came with the 4afe or 7afe motors. they were mostly the celica st's. these cars had different front subframe's. so putting a s series engine in is a pain in the ass. you can tell its a st becasue they had drum rear brakes. most gt's and gts's had rear disc's. try and make sure the car you are getting is not a st. it will make your life alot easier.
