I own a 93 2.2l. Right now it is only sporting a short list of mods and will be seeing a turbo in the near future. I bought the car not to long ago with 55k miles. Besides a recent spat with faulty sparkplug wires it has run strong. I cruise Tampa and am always on for a challenge.

 

How much internal work will it take to get that engine to safely run boost?

 

The internals dont need much work to safetly run 5 to 7psi. But anything beyond that requires some higher quality internals. The pistons have been known to crach with anymore than than about 7 psi.
