Default Lexus IS300 problem .atleast i think it is

i have a 01 IS300 and i'm not sure if its supose to do this but when i start up the car cold then holding on the the gas pedal all the way down to accererate fast ,its sound like its wouldn't change to 2nd gear, but its just goes all the way up and then into neutral. i'm not sure its transmition problem or theres a button i can push to disable it. but it doesn't accerelates but very slowly. another word its doesn't accererate smooth if i let go the pedal and press it back its will change gear sometimes jerky but once its all warmed up and nice its doesn't have that problem.

yes it is supposed to do that and yes it is very annoying even when under normal acceleration. it means you are not letting the car warm up enough. get a remote starter if patience becomes an issue
