JDMMARKET.com, anyone ever delt with them?
I'm thikning of installing a gen3 in my mr2. I know XAT racing does it but their prices are outrageous.
wondering if anyone has experience with this outfit?
they suggested Sean Kriner as an installer.. but I know a few people who could if time allowed for them.
mark (mr2driver), ryan (formaly from XAT but never returns calls, lol) chris (christo4wilson)
so.. what do i do? I wish i had the knowledge to do it myself.
what is a gen 2 worth on the market? mine is fine but has 150k on the clock.

What the 150k mr2 didn't sell for asking price?? Thats a shocker. I wonder if anyone told you how long those "3sgte" motors last. Thanks for the negative rep chief.
On topic, 3rd gen is a good engine. From what I've seen, JDM market seemed a little over priced. I don't know what your plans are with the car but if you wanna just put a lower mileage motor in it and sell it, I'd recommend a 2nd gen.(you should then get your asking price) Its a little cheaper and parts are readily available. If you plan on sticking with the car for a while to enjoy it, go with a 3rd gen 3sgte. Its an awesome motor! CT20b, higher boost!
As far as who puts it in your car, go with Sean Kriner all the way!! No offense to anyone else you mentioned but don't go cheap with the installation especially if you decide to go the route with a 3rd gen. I can personally vouch for Sean because he installed the 3sgte in my 90 GT. Clean work and that man takes real pride in his work! Good luck.

Oh yeah call http://jarcoinc.com/
Ask about their engines. Normally if you want just engine and tranny with wires its gonna run ya like 1500 plus shipping for a 2nd gen. I'm not too familiar with 3rd gen pricing. I hear its alot more!

I saw JDM Market had a 3rd Gen swap laying around for about $3k which is a low price. I myself cannot get a hold of anyone there to save my life. I tried calling them several times and left messages about some wheels they have for sale, but no response. I have done 5 3rd gen swaps myself including my own car. Some required custom wiring, some provided the harness' needed. 3rd gen is defenetly the way to go. Problem with selling your car, is now-a-days people don't have any money to spend on a real cars. Our cars are getting old and financing is pretty much not an option anymore. I am curious to know who Sean Kriner is. Have anymore info on him? Jarco is definetly going to be the most reliable engine source, but you pay a premium with them. Honestly I would not be able to start another MR2 swap until next month, I have a couple other projects currently.

they often have things on ebay. that might be another route to get a hold of them.
nothing is set in stone yet.. and obviously i'd have to get a motor before I did anything.. and I still am getting ready to list my tonwhouse to buy a house..
I love mr2's... people who had never driven one just dont know!

MR2driver completed my 3rd Gen install and provided everything I wanted; down to the custom things I asked him to do such as (Powder coating, stainless steel fuel lines, MR2 vaccum hoses, custom filter elbow, suspension upgrades, EGT tap, fuse box wiring, clutch, tail light upgrade, exhaust upgrade, custom turbo install, after market intercooler, etc.)
Check out my gallery for pictures. Mark is the real deal and the MR2 community is very lucky to have him.
