grinding in 3rd

grinding in 3rd
ok i have a 1986 celcia gts what is happening is when i drive and change gears mainly from 2nd-3rd when i go to put it in it grinds and sounds like its just spinning what should i do to the clutch any infor is appreciated

How many miles on this thing? Could be bad syncros. When you say its just spinning, do you mean the gear is engaged and you give it gas and the engine just revs but you don't go any where?
