Default interior tear out questions...

ok i have an 86' corolla, that im tearing the whole interior out because of leaks/old shit. well under the carpet and rear seats it has like cardboard? looking stuff that looks to be glued to the floor-pan of the car. Is this stuff needed or can i tear it out also? If i can tear it out what is the best way to do so?

thanks for any help,
-Mike

rip it out with your bare hands. put on some metal though so you feel manly about it.
