Default 1jz and megasquirt

I am in the middle of a 1jz 240sx project. I was considering using megasquirt, but I am still learning about it. is it in anyway limited compared to any big dollar standalones? do you need anything additional to contol fuel and spark?(like emanage) and where exactly do you obtain the tuning software?

Sorry for the noob question but I am mostly used to plug and play standalones. and there arent too many available for 1jz's power fc was discontinued. TIA

well, the thing about megasquirt it's cheap compared to any "standalone" out there, way cheap...i think the guys names are bowling and grippo or something simular...there was a guy selling one on here assembled for $300 or so...i have heard only good things about it...about the fuel and spark thing,toyotas(3sgte anyway)has a 'noisy' ignition signal but there are ways around that per mr2oc threads...keep reading

Thanks for the reply. I did some researching since I made this thread. and all these questions have been answered. now I need to find out what system would work best for a 1jz (sequential coil on plug system) and are there any south Florida installers and tuners? or anyone willing to travel down here to help wire up and install, name your price.
