can you mate a Auto upper speedo cable to the lower 5spd cable on a MKIII????

i have an upper Auto and i can get a lower section for dirt cheap so i need to know ASAP.

 

the auto and manual cables are the same EXCEPT for the autos have a 3rd metal section down by the tranny.... the uppers are all the same...and the second piece is all the same...then the autos have an extra piece that connects to the tranny.

so if im reading you right you should be able to do what you want.
