turbo with fuel problems...

turbo with fuel problems...

i have a corolla turbo and the walbro 255 fuel pump was installed. when i go to put in gas the gas meter doesnt really move at all even tho i know there is gas in the car?

ANYONE KNOW WHY?!

Is there a sender wire going from the gauge to the gas tank?

How do you know it is still connected?-Bob

Now that we know the wire from the tank is sending current, the next thing to check, is whether the original gauge/instruments have been changed, or maybe the sending unit is having problems.

Have you pulled the sending unit up out of the tank to see
if the float/rod/etc. is OK?-Bob

It's also possible that with a turbo, since the air/fuel must
be readjusted, that you are burning more gas than you once did.

It's most likely the float rod itself. The walbro purchased by ridenleanback was NOT the proper unit for the corolla. The pick-up for the walbro was on the opposite side of the pump vs. OEM(the sock was on the wrong side).. Due to being on a budget, the walbro was retro fitted to the corolla pump assembly. The fuel float rod was VERY close to coming in contact with the pump due to its modified location...

It's getting easier now................pull the pump, bend the rod away just a little bit, so it clears, wiggle it around a little to be SURE it won't touch, and put it back in.-Bob
