1jzgte vs. 2jzgte
1jzgte vs. 2jzgte
Im looking for an SC300 and have been trying to read up on them and understand that you can swap a 1jz or 2jz and that it already comes with a 2jzge motor. I found a "JDM" RHD Toyota Soarer(SC300) for sale and it says it has a 1jz, but i here the 2jz is a better motor.
What's the difference between the two, like pros and cons wise? Thanks for the help.

1jzgte= 2.5L tt and 2jzgte=3.0L tt

Both are spectacular motors. Both inline-six turbo-charged powerplants.
but like ^ he said 2.5L 3.0L twin-turbo. Though I heard the 1JZ also came single turbo and VVT-i. 2JZGTE also had a six-speed transmission. Either way.
If you get an SC-300 why not just turbo-charge the 2JZGE?
just asking.

The 1jz is the motor that comes in the soarer in Japan. The 1jz is the cheaper, easier route and good power. But if you go 2jzGTE you basically have a Supra. And advice don't go na-t, go with 2jzgte.
1jz: 2.5l, twin turbo ct12a's
2jz: 3.0l, twin turbo ct12b's
1jz: 2.5l, twin turbo ct12a's
2jz: 3.0l, twin turbo ct12b's
Well i know the 2jz can be built to handle gobs of power, can the 1jz also? Not looking for gobs but around 350 or so would be nice since it will pretty much be an every other daily driver.
Either way you go you cant go wrong. Both motors will handle in excess of 700RWPH reliably but anything over that you might want to look into upgrading the rods and pistons.
You can go NA-T for less money and make more power. The GE bottom end is identical to the GTE with the exception of the pistons and oil squirters. The GE can handle 450+RWHP provided the tuning is good. Just throw a big turbo on the stock SC motor, a R154, and an auto MKIV Supra rear end (3.76:1 gears) and go beat up on some 600cc bikes
