Default confused with SAFC2

Well i have a doubt...
the thing is.. recently i fitted a safc2 in my celica GT-S year 2001.. and i gained extra 8hp..
So recently, i joined the celica club malaysia..
All the celica club members saying that SAFC doesnt work on our celica and it doesnt gives any difference..
i clarified to them by saying i gained extra 8hp. but they said, after few days of installing the safc, the hp wil drop by itself.. it will be back to normal and i will lose the extra 8hp..
but non of the club members have safc..
issit because they just pass the rumour around hearing from one guy and they keep passing around?
damn im so confused... anyone please explain to me..
thank you so much guys..

Think about what the SAFC does. It adds or takes away fuel where the stock ECU is unable to. Really depends on the mod level of the car. If your car is modded enough that the ECU has a hard time 'deciding' how much fuel to give the car, then an SAFC will be useful to give the car ideal conditions. For example, if you have a cold air intake, you're gaining about as much power as moving to New York. The ECU can adjust to this. You really won't need to start adjusting your fuel values until you get big upgrades, like forced induction, or cams, ported head, etc.

no it doesn't reset itself unless you reset it.

I haven't heard of an ECU that will compensate for an SAFC, taking A/Fs back to stock levels, but I suppose it's possible in theory.
