Default pros, cons of vvti on 2jz

what do you guys think of VVTI? i have looked all over the web and have read why people are for or angainst it. what do you guys think? does it do it job right even with mods (turbo, etc) or with mods does that need tuned it too? To me it makes sense why Toyota put it in, (they obviously are no dummies) then i read that some guy didnt like it so he disconected it.

thanks, still getting the project going.

If you want to make serious power, get a gte head or at the very least a ge head w/o vvti, if you are looking for mild power (sub 500) then you could get away with the vvti head

There are GTEs with VVTI, too. I've heard it's just very difficukt to tune with. Once you start demanding more fuel, timing changes, and those sorts of things, VVTI is commonly gotten rid of.
