redesigned suspension, new tail lights, new spoiler, new wheels, upgraded brakes, limited slip, redesigned transmission, redesigned ecu, new color opotions, new interior options, usually less miles, more rare

I would agree that the cost of actually getting the engine IN the car and running, will be 3-5x greater than the cost of obtaining the 'engine' itself. And FAR FAR more than the MKIII 3sgte.

This is going to involve MAJOR body modification including the frame, a fully custom standalone computer to run and interact with the factory cluster (or a fully custom cluster), custom suspension mounting, rework of the entire rear subframe (to accept the engine and change suspension mounts to fit everything). Fully custom brake & clutch setup (all the cyls will have to be moved), complete electric system reconfiguration, and Totally custom cooling system with new hookups (no possibility of ANY air conditioning here like you CAN do with the MKIII 3sgte).

Ending up with a car that has only moderate power, lots of rear end weight (snap oversteer's delight) , difficult to work on, and most likely still much slower than the properly modified MKIII 3sgte. Oh yeah, and an empty pocket book on the scale of 10-15K + hundreds of hours of time (Judging on our past discussions in this forum of the 2JZ in an mr2).

This is just something that is not realistic. If you were the type of person who could afford a C6 ZO6 and wanted something different, or decided to ditch your 360 for a E55 and something "Unique", then I would understand.

If you happen to be that person, I would suggest trying the mods to a cheap 1991 NA Shell and seeing if it works, before you go about tearing up one of the rarest cars in the USA.

+1....Please go out side and pop the engine lid on the Mr2 so you can see how much space you got there, how the engine is sitting sideways, How much bigger the Ls1 is and how it sits a totaly diffrent way....Now How is swaping a ls1 is gonna be cheaper than the 3sgte??. Please don't ruin a 94 go sell it and buy something else.

and now that Iv own 2 all-tracs I now know more than when I first posted. Its too bad that 94 is an Auto N/A but swaped that car would be worth in the $10k-$15k range
