Default Dumb MR2 Question

My friend just bought a 91' MR2 turbo and was trying to figure aout what type of oil it uses. He doesn't have the owners manual and the previous owner didn;t know either (not a good sign). I figured there are some Toyota people on the boards that would probably be able to help out. Thank you.

10w30 synthetic.

If his has never ran synthetic, and has a high mileage engine, which is highly likely being a 91, you may want to stick with conventional. As soon as you switch to synthetic you will start to notice gaskets will start leaking. Synthetic is finer.
