Default mk3 questions

hay any info will be welcome. as of right know all i have done is a walbro pump 255. s-afc2, 3inch down pipe back. stock turbo some homemade looking boost controler one of my boys gave but is dowing the job. running 10psi average. converted to stick. still useing auto ecu and rear end. played with timing hear and there at about 15 degrees right know still playing with it. some half ass intercooler pipeing i put together. largest pte intercooler i could find. i only got to make one run at the track a few nights ago. it was a 14.8 i was kinde dissapointed. any one know if thats about right for what i have done? any ideas on were my timing would be best at 10psi? is it true that my ecu makes up for my afc settings after a while? should i switch to a stick ecu? should i change my rear end to a stick? any ideas on base settings for my afc?i have next to my bed a 62-1 i plan on installing soon. but i have another engine i wante to build for it. any info any one can help with will be appriciated.

+1, you should be at least in the low 14s if the car was running properly

all i had on my car was about 7psi, open 3inch down pipe and an intake and i ran 14.1 and had a blown head gasket and hit fuel cut twice on the run.

switching the diff and the ecu isnt going to do ANYTHING...assuming it was a turbo car to begin with....

the only difference in ecus is the atu oecu has the shift points...you arent losing anything by having an auto ecu in a manual car...

on top of that the diffs were changed by model NOT by tranny...meaning the diffs were 3.73, 3.91 and 4.3 the latter being the NA diff.....

finally....sounds like your car was thrown together ghettoly (yes thats a word) and thats a problem. that and you probably need some practice at the track....what were your trap times?

Default hear it is

mine is an 86.5 according to the door. yes it was stock turbo i just made it stick. i have tested the intercooler pipes a couple of time and no problem. my gauge never drops wile i drive it actully hits 15psi in 5 gear no boost cut still trying to figure that one out. thanks for the info on the ecu if your correct i guess i dont need to buy one?my trap was only 94miles/hour. lots of wheel hop of the line. couldent get another run in to correct it.

ok somewhere something is missing....because there were NO (READ ZERO) turbos made in 86.5 models....

so either you have an 87 or that was an Na converted to turbo....
