Iridiums are a good idea for forced induction...if you like pissing away money on plugs that really dont do any better than anything else and get too hot under boost.

Get the OEM plugs. Theres a reason Toyota spent money researching and came up with the stock plug type. These were high end cars back in the day...if they had iridium plugs back then and found them to work, they'd use them
The white fuzz on the bottom of the plugs mean that it is the wrong heat range also btw.

Woah lol probably didnt have to spend that much...I've never spent more than $10 on all of my plugs together

Just find out what the stock type of plugs are for the 1G and get those...usually Denso/Bosch Platinums with an equivilent cross reference

YIKES! O..o... orion... Iridium plugs are FANTASTIC plugs to go with, especially for high boost applications... Copper are great too, but you'll change them more than the iridium... Platinum are worthless in a boosted car, I had so much chatter with them, ping and misses... Iridium fixed that quickly... I paid $6 a piece for my NGKs at O'Rielys... I'll be breaking my motor in on coppers, but will be switching to Ir plugs after the break in... Anyway, Im glad you got your car running well... Im really glad you got those nasty plugs out... lol... YIKES! It looks like they were sittin in the open for a while...

Pretty certain its quite the opposite...if a stock boosted car uses platinums, there may be a reason IMO. I've heard Iridiums just heat up too much under boost.

With your platinums, did you do the "for every 100HP over stock, add 1 heat range and .001" closer gap?"
