Rhd Mr2
I have a 1991 Mr2 that I am currently putting some money into. I was thinking about the possibility of converting to RHD. I am very familiar with Nissan's and the concept of converting the 240sx. However Toyota's are something that I am still learning about. Has anyone ever tried converting the Mr2 from left to right hand drive? Is it as difficult as converting a RWD car? I have done searches online with no help. If you have and input please let me know.
Thanks,
Greg.
Thanks,
Greg.

all i gotta say is WOW, good luck on that one. ithink the mr2 would be a little more difficult to do just for the simpe fact that there are no front clips of sw20's that i know of. all you ever get for the sw20 swap is a rear clip for obvious reason's. sounds cool non the less, but not to feesable if you ask me.
then again, i think the hardest part would be aquiring the parts. i think the mr2's are set up to be more universal between LHD and RHD so the actual swap might be .......dare i say easy. you would need the center consol and all the shifting/parking break linkage too.

that would definatly be a cool swap, wish i could help, i would be interested, have you tried www.mr2board.com
I think its doable. Good luck on finding parts for the dash etc... Not too many people import the front end of the 2's.

call/ email www.jarcoinc.com - they can probably bring one in for you, if they don't have one in GA.

It's been done at least once. Go to www.mr2board.com as suggested and search. I've seen the pics. Apparently its not an easy swap....

in theory it would be easier because you dont have to work around the motor or anything...but like said finding the clip is going to be harder....same concept to do it though...if you cut the front "firewall" out of the RHD and swap it with that of the LHD and bolt everything up and switch the other needed parts (steering, dash, ect.) as far a gas cable and everything its going to be easier cause your not going to have to really mess with any of that cause its in the rear and your changing the front
