Well you guys might think im fucking nuts...but I've gotta 97 4wd Rav4...and I wanna turn into a mudbogger...but the 2.0 thats in there right now probably isnt enough...I was thinking why not a 2.3 from the Camry's and TC's its set up the same way the Rav is and it is a bad little engine...what I wanna know from you guys is this really feasable? Anything can be done...for a price...I just wanna know if this goin to be like trying to drop a 2JZ into a 86 mr2 or if this actually that could come to fruition without a R&D budget that rivals a magazine project cars...thanks in advance for all your feedback

 

why not just make a turbocharged 2.0 like the 3sgte from an mr2 or celica

 

I've thought about that...but my problem is that there'd be more stuff to worry about when you're out there...I would'nt be surprised if I busted an oil line if I managed to slap it in there...where the 2.3 is a really strong engine and theres already a decent amount of power there

 

which camry mtor u talking about the new camrys 02-present have a 2AZ-FE 2.4 liter with vvti-l, twin cam that produces 160hp, very very strong and reliable motor, my mother has an 03 , the motors put out a lot of tourqe down low in the power band but not sure what your looking for

a friend of mine is all into 3sgte her rav 4, she said it's quite popular swap in australia

 

In the newer ones, last I checked they came with the 2.2 5S-FE...a stroked 3S with the same economy head. Switch the head for a G (instead of F) and put a few more lbs of boost on there for easy fun

Remember, as of 2006, Toyota's fastest vehicle IS in fact the RAV4. Although its bigger in all specs, they DID cram in the 3.5 V6 in there, so surely damn near any 4 banger will fit

 

yea they also come with the 2az-fe 2.4 liter out of the camry and Tc, i saw one in the showroom at stadium the other day , lots of room on the 06's
