Buy a perfectly running MKIII. Those make nice projects.

Buy one without an engine. If its not perfectly running, it will be a project just to get it working. However, if you get one without an engine, it'll be much cheaper, but be prepared to replace everything

mk1.5 sw11 conversion for an aw11 w/ a 4age to a 3sgte sw20 MR2 motor
slammed on tien full coilovers, big brake conversion, 17" rims(front) 18"rims(really, really wide i.e. 11" or so(rear) , poly-urithane bushings and other stiff stuff....(i could go on for ever)

or something like that

if tuned right you will have a ~275rwhp and dominate the streets

the car with blown or bad 4age motor can be found for about 300-500 bones and the motor and swap can be done for about $3000

add another 2500 in various up grades

and there you have a 10 sec rwd for about 6g's

Just the rims and suspension you stated before are more than 2500 in mods.

The only 1.5 I know of and have ridden in quite a bit, is a 12 second car with around 295whp and runs 12's. 10's are a bit further away than it seems. I would also figure around 10-15 K to achieve the results you need with all the mods you stated above.

I'll call Matt Armstrong and see what his total was for his 1.5.
