Completed 5EFHE swap
Well I put in the 5efhe in my GF's 1993 tercel yesterday morning/afternoon, took me about 6 hours to complete. From pulling the old engine to installing the new one. I've still got a few kinks to work out but it's mostly done and running. We have a mysterious noise from the passenger side, sounds like an upper noise and it may just be the timing or a pulley, hopefully it's not anything bad. We have a 30 day warranty from the company I bought it from, I just don't want to pull the engine out again lol. We put the motor in because it was cheaper than buying a stock Tercel motor from the local junk yards

actually the best race combo is a 5efhe/4efte hybrid. my bud in orlando is running 450whp and his best time was in the 11's. the 4efte is a great motor, but than again it's just a 1.3l. as for the 5efe and the 5efhe are 1.5l. The 5efe is good for about 10psi safely. as for the 5efhe is good for about 22 safely(believe me i know
) but yeah good luck with it, and also did you get the second runners to kick in w/o the ecu?

This is an earlier 5efhe from a 1993, the 105 hp instead of 110 hp dual intake runner version so there was no second runners to worry about 
We drove the car to St. Petersburg and back today and it ran great, besides running rich. We still got about 30mpg which is the most I would expect from the sluggish automatic. The Tercel can actually contend with highway traffic, that old 3EE just couldn't keep up, this one pulls well past 100. Which I'm not willing to take it any further than that

hey i just registered and i just saw this post and how are the paseo and tercels going i have a paeo myself 1993 with a 5efhe head on a 5efe block with 5efe ecu, 225 cc injectors 5efhe fuel rail pianted it red with high heat 1200 degree paint, 4efte belt for the cam gears, short ram intake magnaflow custom exhaust with no cat ngk iridium ix plugs and performance iridium perormance red wires 5efhe cams i alos shaved the head got decent horsepower feels like the car got 150hp lol
I have a turbo paseo too.... but this is an old ass thread just make a new one here's the pic of mine....
